BREAKING NEWS:
One of our team members was able to live stream today’s Brawley Elementary School District board meeting, where several positions including a part-time health assistant, full-time counselor, and on-site social worker are on the chopping block, amongst others.
Rising tension prompted several community members, staff, and at least one parent to speak up. Pleas for the board to reconsider may or may not sway the decision, however, as the District has reportedly overspent $17 million dollars in funds during the 2024 school year, and has already made cuts to services like public Zoom live streams as of February 11.
