As journalists, we get to meet so many people with interesting personal memories and life stories, but occasionally someone will share something legitimately unique that just needs to be published. So, while the other guys stay on their daily beat, People’s Press handles the rest. Our name isn’t just a tagline, we’re a publication truly for the community, and we wouldn’t be here without each and every one of you
We met 76 year-old Brawley resident, Julio Bracamonte Jr, while attending a committee meeting for the Cesar Chavez march at Chabela’s Restaurant last month. He shared with the group about an experience that he had while working in the fields 60 years ago when something incredible happened that made hundreds of fieldworkers put down their equipment to share a special, unforgettable moment in time together
Click the following link to read what Julio ultimately submitted to us as a handwritten letter—something we’re happy to say we accommodate for a range of abilities and lifestyles. In addition, a few follow up questions were asked. Thanks again, Julio!

If you’d also like to send a handwritten story to us, you can mail that right over to P.O. Box 344, Brawley, CA 92227 or email a photo of it to peoplespress777@gmail.com (please include your signature to allow for edits).
Stay tuned for more Cesar Chavez inspired content to be released early next week!
