announcement #20

So have you heard of a sport called Pickleball, or do you live under a rock?? (It’s okay, we’re here to help)

As it turns out, this phenomenon has just about TAKEN OVER the county—honestly, maybe the country—and it’s all thanks to a group of funky fanatics now officially known as the ✨Imperial Valley Pickleball Association✨

This group has had a really organic start 🌱 growing from just a few friends trying to stay active after retirement to a lively bunch of residents of all ages with a WhatsApp chat nearly 100 strong 💪🏽

And now that they’ve obtained nonprofit status, members are trying to raise funds to expand the amount of dedicated Pickleball courts to better accommodate a range of schedules 🙂

In our latest Citizen Journalism story submissions, you’ll hear from Janet Stills and Bradley Scheffler who speak about how this fun, healthy hobby has both improved their lives and expanded their friend groups 🏓

You can read those stories and peep exclusive pics here 👇🏽👇🏽
